Barry Thompson came to Nelson in 1961 to manage the accountancy practice of Pickles Perkins & Hadlee, Chartered Accountants of Christchurch, who had just commenced in Nelson city. With the growth in the practice some five years later (1966) Denis Daly, also from the Christchurch office of Pickles Perkins & Hadlee, joined Barry to help handle the increased workload.
In 1968, Barry and Denis decided that they would retain a local Nelson identity and therefore purchased the Nelson branch of Pickles Perkins & Hadlee. From there the new firm of Thompson Daly & Co was established which continues to grow today.
Wayne Anderson joined Thompson Daly Chartered Accountants fifteen years ago and in 2011 he opened a separate branch in Richmond to better service the Richmond and Tasman region. In 2014 Robbie Reynolds joined the firm as a partner to support the ongoing growth of the practice.
